Welding and boilermaking involve real risks. Sparks, heat, heavy equipment, and working on construction sites mean accidents can happen. If you've been knocked back by insurers or other brokers, or you need higher limits than most offer, we can help.
We work with welders, fabricators, and boilermakers across Australia who do mobile welding, workshop fabrication, structural steel work, and repairs. Whether you're a sole trader doing residential welding or running a business with employees doing heavy commercial work, we find cover that fits.
What We Cover
Public Liability is the main cover for welders and boilermakers. It protects you if your work causes injury to someone else or damages their property. Most clients need between $10 million and $20 million, depending on contract requirements.
We also arrange Business Packs that include Public Liability plus cover for your tools and equipment, which can be stolen or damaged on site. If you employ people or use subcontractors, we make sure your policy covers those risks properly.
For businesses doing design work or providing advice on structural matters, Professional Indemnity may also be needed.
Why Welders Come to Us
Standard insurers often decline welding risks. The work is seen as high-risk because of hot works, working at heights, mobile operations, or subcontracting to construction sites. Some insurers don't quote on welding at all. Others will quote but exclude the activities you actually do.
We know which insurers will cover welding and fabrication work, and we know how to present your business to get it placed. If you've been declined elsewhere, we have other markets we can try.
Many construction contracts require $20 million Public Liability, which rules out most online platforms. We work with insurers who offer higher limits for welding businesses.
